It's Monday!!!

Yeah yeah yeah...whoopee doo! :) Looks like it's gonna be a beautiful day. Not much going on today. I really need to clean our bedroom. All of Andrew's hunting stuff is strewn all over our floor, and *maybe* a teeny bit of MY stuff is there too...

Andrew and I took the girls fishing Friday. We went to Seven Lakes State Park, which is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the fish are pretty smart. After fishing, we took a walk on a nature trail. About 50 feet into the trail, we saw a hawk fly away from something on the trail as we walked up. The hawk was eating a rattlesnake. There's only one type of venemous snake in Michigan, and Seven Lakes is a place where they're concentrated. Being from the south where snakes are plentiful, I wasn't impressed. I have a healthy respect for snakes and figured we'd better get the heck out of there. But apparently these snakes are very shy and the least poisonous of rattlesnakes. Andrew was fascinated since he's never seen a rattlesnake.

So, that's our adventure for the weekend.

Sunday, Cora and I went to Kids Day at Crossroads Village. She earned a certificate for 4 free passes into the village through the Summer Reading Program at the library. It was a pretty good time. We rode the train, which is always cool. The car we rode in was built in 1881. Cora also rode on a carousel that was built in 1912. She was JUST tall enough to ride it alone, and she was the only one on the ride at the time. She had the carousel all to herself, and she thought that was just the coolest.
