How DO You Cure A Broken Heart?

Poor Cora. She's suffering from her first broken heart. Yes. She's only 8. However, she's had a boyfriend since the middle of last school year, and now this boy is "seeing" someone else. Poor Cora is distraught. Sure, she's only 8, and it's not really a huge deal. But it is to her. She's been in the bed crying about it. I was in there talking to her, trying to help her to understand that it's ok to be upset about things like this. To her, it's the end of the world and there are NO other cute boys in the ENTIRE school (according to her). I told her that time will change how she feels, and that all she can do is just let him go. If only we adults could use that advice in our own lives sometimes. I guess there's actually nothing I can DO for her except hold her while she cries, and listen while she talks. I pray that I'm able to do that when she's older.

Oh Cora.... that's so sweet and adorable in a way that hurts a mama's heart. She's lucky to have such a wonderful mom.

Cora you are doing perfectly fine! It is out of your hands and your daughter will live and learn. Life is all about experiences and without them life is dull. I recently just had a heart break and had a hard time getting over it. It is all about friendship and having loved ones near you. Curing a Broken Heart can be hard to do!
